Families and Disability, Understanding and Supporting – Introduction

Course Introduction: “Families and Disability – Understanding and Supporting”

Welcome to our accredited CACHE level 1 course on “Families and Disability”, where we’ll explore key aspects of supporting individuals with special needs and disabilities. Through a series of modules, we’ll delve into understanding grief, parents and carers, interactions with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) families, and the challenges faced by siblings of children with SEND.

A family of 5 blue characters stands together. One child is in a wheelchair and has cerebral palsy, shown by the way their hands are curled, they have a headrest and feet supports. They are talking to one of their siblings who is standing next to them listening. Mum and Dad are watching over them, smiling and a third sibling is standing in front of Mum and Dad, looking up at Mum. Mum also has a limb difference, with her right arm ending at her elbow.

At the end of the course, you will take a multiple choice quiz to gain your internationally recognised CACHE level 1 accreditation, which we will send out to you within 28 days. The pass mark is 80%, but if you do not pass first time, you can take it again. Good luck! And don’t forget, we use ReciteMe software which can translate and read the content out loud for you!
